Dhaka to Cox Bazar Train & Cox’s Bazar to Dhaka Train 2024
After many speculations, the Dhaka to Cox Bazar train (inter-city) “Cox’s Bazar Express” was finally launched. This train was auspiciously inaugurated on 11th November 2023. This train is officially running from 31 December 2023. As a result, you can travel to Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong very easily at a low cost. Not only that, you can go at night and travel all day and back to Dhaka at night.
It is good to know that the distance from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar is about 400 km. It took about 10-12 hours by bus to cover this huge route. But if you go by plane, the fare is sky-high even though it takes less time. The government adopted a big plan to find relief from this problem. Let’s get some information first.
Cox Bazar Train
The Dhaka to Chittagong train has been running for a long time. But there was no direct rail line from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar. Therefore, in 2011, the government undertook the project of Chittagong to Cox’s Bazar railway line by spending about 18 thousand 34 crore 47 lakh taka. Finally, the 100 km railway from Dohazari to Ramu and Ramu to Cox’s Bazar was inaugurated on 11th November 2023.
There are two trains available on this route. The first is Cox’s Bazar Express train and the second is Parjatak Express train.

Dhaka to Cox Bazar Train Schedule
According to the new schedule, the Cox Bazar Express train leaves Dhaka (Kamalapur) at 10:30 PM and stops at the airport station at 11:00 AM to reach Chittagong at 6:00 AM and reach Cox’s Bazar at 6:45 AM. On the other hand, the Parjotok Express train leaves Dhaka at 6.15 AM and reaches Cox Bazar at 3.00 PM.

Dhaka to Cox Bazar train ticket price 2024
already discussed that there are two available trains from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar and similarly Cox Bazar to Dhaka. The ticket prices are the same for the Cox’s Bazar Express and Parjotok Express trains.
- Cox’s Bazar Express: The price for S_CHAIR is 695 tk, Snigdha 1325tk, and AC_S is 1590 taka. Here 20 Taka will be the service charge.
- Parjotok Express: The ticket price for Shovon Chair is 715 Taka, Snigdha 1345 Taka, and AC Birth 2400 Taka including 2% VAT (20Taka)
Cox’s Bazar to Dhaka Train Schedule
There are two trains available on this route. The first is Cox’s Bazar Express train and the second is Parjatak Express train.

- The Cox Bazar Express train leaves Cox’s Bazar at 12:30 PM stops at the Chattogram station at 3:40 PM and reaches Dhaka at 9:10 PM.
- On the other hand, the Parjotok Express train leaves Cox’s Bazar at 8:00 PM and reaches Dhaka at 4:30 AM.
